Deponia wenzel3/19/2023 Tuck, ever the pacifist is keeping to the sidelines and herding the children away. He can see the hatmaker and Lobo approaching. The ruckus calls more people to the street and Gizmo quickly knows that the most challenging ordeal is going to keep order. If they could deal with Rufus for years, then Kuvaq could easily handle some odd lizard dogs. Gizmo can’t say he’s ever seen this kind of beast before, but he’s highly determined to not have ‘Kuvaq citizen’ added to their menu. They seem to be looking for something, food maybe. Tuck, still by the alarm, is trying to meet his gaze from below but not daring to confront these animals. Gizmo sighs with disappointed defeat, but when he bends out of the window he doesn’t see open flames or explosions but… a small horde of weird creatures stalking towards the town center. His thought immediately goes out to Rufus and how yesterday’s progress was just a hiccup on Rufus’s way back to his own kind of ‘normalcy’. A.The morning after he gets awoken - rather early at that - by the blaring of his emergency sirens. Even if you’re terrible at these types of games and end up cheating on a regular basis, then there’s still loads of great stuff here. However, since “Deponia” also has two sequels that apparently follow on directly from each other, it seems likely that this game might have a cliffhanger ending of some kind.Īll in all, “Deponia” is an absolutely hilarious and unique game that is certainly worth checking out if you’re a fan of old-school “point and click” games. From what I can gather, I’m about two-thirds of the way through the game and – even though I used a walkthrough quite often – it took me a few hours to get there. In terms of length, “Deponia” seems to be fairly reasonable. However, I’m still at a loss to explain how a game with cartoonish 2D graphics can be over three gigabytes in size though. There are also about nine animated cutscenes in the game ( I’ve unlocked about eight of them so far). Seriously, how many OTHER games have a musical narrator?Īs for the graphics, I absolutely love the cartoonish art style in “Deponia” and the whole game looks like something from a comic book, which was really cool. But, he hopes that his latest plan will…. However, his escape plans have never really worked out that well. Rufus has had a lifelong ambition to leave Deponia for a place called Elysium. You play as a slacker, and general ne’er-do-well, called Rufus who lives in his ex-girlfriend’s house in a town called Kuvaq on a planet called Deponia (which serves as some kind of intergalactic rubbish dump). “Deponia” is an old-style sci-fi/comedy point and click adventure game, released by Daedalic Entertainment in 2012. This seems a little bit large for a cartoonish adventure game, so you might have to clear some space on your hard drive before you download this game.Īnyway, that said, let’s take a look at “Deponia”: However, I should warn you that the download of this game is absolutely huge – not only is the game itself something like 3.5 gb in size, but you also have to download a 1.2gb patch for it too. But, even so, be sure to shop around if you decide to buy this game. Personally, I found that the extra stuff and the lack of DRM more than made up for the lack of achievements. However, unlike the Steam version, it doesn’t contain an achieivements system. If, like me, you buy this game from GoG- it doesn’t come with any DRM and you’ll also get a lot of free optional bonus stuff too ( eg: downloadable manuals, downloadable artwork, a digital copy of the game’s soundtrack etc.). I should probably also point out that, at the time of writing this review, I’ve completed about two-thirds of the game – so this review will only reflect my experiences so far.īut, before I take a look at the game itself, I should probably briefly compare the different downloadable versions of this game available for purchase online. Since I’d heard of this game before and since the price had been briefly reduced to something like £0.40, I decided to check it out. A few months ago, I was looking at random stuff on the internet when I noticed that “Deponia” was on special offer on GoG.
